	JAZ JASWAL SPECIALIST IN AUTOMATIC CAR DRIVER TRAINING Can help you learn to drive in automatic car in Central, East and South Auckland. Jaz teaches in a Holden Spark. Jaz emigrated to NZ from India in 2010, after graduating with two masters degrees in political science and languages. He then managed an electrical warehouse and in 2014, attained his truck licences. Jaz has worked in the transport industry since then, but branched out on his own doing contract transport work. Jaz also worked for 3 years as a driving instructor for a large driving school in Auckland. As well as standard driving lessons, he did fleet assessments for companies and defensive driving courses. Jaz is married with one child. Outside work he likes to spend time with his family and when time permits, he loves doing a bit of archery & horse riding. 	AZIM RIAZ SPECIALIST IN AUTOMATIC CAR DRIVER TRAINING Can help you learn to drive in automatic car in South Auckland. Azim teaches in a Toyota Aqua. Azim is originally from Delhi and came to NZ in 2003. He worked there as a media planner at an advertising agency. In NZ he worked for the railways as a training & development officer for 12 years. He then moved to Singapore with his family and worked in real estate. After coming back to NZ he worked for Fullers for a little while. In 2019 he started working as a driving testing officer for VTNZ. Azim was all trained up to start training new testing officers, but he decided to leave in October 2025. Azim has a wealth of experience in customer service and is very familiar with the driver testing criteria. His hobbies are part-time DJ at radio Tarana, watching movies and playing cricket. Azim is married and has an adult son. Mark is a valued recent addition to the A1 team, having successfully completed the NZTA‑accredited I‑Endorsement course. Originally from the United Kingdom, he relocated to New Zealand to pursue a career in machine tool technology with a major manufacturing company. In that role, he discovered a strong passion for coaching, mentoring, and helping people develop their technical abilities and confidence. With extensive experience in both car and motorcycle driving, Mark is committed to sharing his knowledge and expertise with learners of all backgrounds. He is dedicated to promoting safe, confident, and responsible driving, ensuring every student achieves a high standard of competence. Vidya has been a driving instructor with A1 for over 5 years. Vidya is originally Fijian Indian, with a background as a secondary teacher for 12 years and an ESOL tutor at the University in Fiji. He moved to New Zealand in 1987, and set up his own business, which he successfully ran for 12 years. He then worked as a sales consultant for Barfoot and Thompson in Meadowbank. Vidya has been a Rotarian for over 25 years in Auckland, where he became President and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow three times for his participation in major funding and charities both in New Zealand and the Pacific. He is a family man, who enjoys spending time with his family.
